Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of new database systems, including capacity planning, data modeling, and schema development.
- Evaluate and recommend database technologies to meet evolving business
- Ensure database scalability, performance, and high
- Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning strategies.
- Implement indexing strategies and query optimization
- Analyze database queries and identify areas for improvement to optimize
- Manage database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery
- Oversee database upgrades, patching, and version
- Implement data encryption and audit trails to maintain data
- Implement robust database security measures, including user access controls, data encryption, and audit trails to protect sensitive
- Monitor for suspicious activity and address potential security threats.
- Lead data quality initiatives and ensure compliance with data privacy
- Advisor to IT Division Leaders on strategic improvement to organization wide database design and development, including technology and budget considerations.
- Manage and mentor a team of DBAs, assigning tasks, providing technical guidance, and fostering professional
- Participate in cross-functional projects, providing database
- Manage database-related project timelines and
- Collaborate with application developers to design database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures to meet application
- Manage data integrity by identifying and resolving data inconsistencies or
- Investigate and resolve database related issues reported by users or
- Provide technical support to developers and other stakeholders regarding database access and usage.
- Lead team members to develop and maintain accurate
- Build and maintain relationships with
- Stay informed about emerging information technologies through professional publications, networking, and ongoing professional development.

- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team of
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data analytics
- Familiarity with various operating systems, databases, and cloud
- Skilled in IT service management
- Familiarity with the Microsoft 365
- Familiarity with automation and job scheduler
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff.
- Ability to create and maintain relevant diagrams, documentation and
- Skills in coordinating third-party vendors for procurement, troubleshooting, and implementing associated
- Quickly adapt to new technologies, industry standards and emerging

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related
- Database certifications relevant to the specific database platform

- Ten (10) years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex database systems.
- Ten (10) years of professional experience collaborating with value-added resellers and service providers.
- Five (5) years of managerial or supervisory
- Relevant Experience with Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR).
