Role Description

Parallel is looking for a Lead Coach to train, mentor, and manage our team of high-achieving college mentors. This role is essential in shaping the Parallel coaching experience, ensuring that every coach is equipped to guide students effectively. You’ll be responsible for creating coaching programs, developing processes, and overseeing the professional development of our coaches.

As the Lead Coach, you’ll work closely with our coaching team to refine best practices, provide ongoing training, and hold weekly 1:1 coaching sessions with each mentor to help them grow in their role. Your leadership will directly impact the success of our students by ensuring they receive top-tier guidance and mentorship.

You Will

  • Train and mentor our team of coaches, leading structured training sessions and providing ongoing development. This includes hiring, onboarding, and performance management
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 coaching sessions with each coach, helping them refine their approach and tackle challenges
  • Create and continuously refine the Parallel coaching program, frameworks, and processes. Develop playbooks, resources, and training materials for our coaching team
  • Obsess over creating the best possible experience for both our students and our coaches

You Are / You Have

  • A natural leader with experience coaching, mentoring, or managing others
  • Strong understanding of coaching methodologies, mentorship best practices, and personal development frameworks
  • Skilled at training and developing talent, with an ability to provide structured feedback
  • A strong communicator who can inspire and motivate both coaches and students
  • Organized and process-driven with the ability to build scalable training programs
  • Emotionally intelligent. Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for mentorship
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative in a startup-like environment
