Oracle E-Business Suite Functional Analyst

Position Summary
The Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Financials Functional Analyst plays a key role exploring, interpreting and documenting
business requirements and working with technical developers and Solution Architect to design, develop, test, and
implement enhanced EBS application functionality. The successful candidate must have excellent organizational,
interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. The candidate must also have the ability to work well as a team
member, and work efficiently and independently. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong
background and experience with the MS Office Suite, Oracle EBS financial modules (AP, AR, GL, SLA), Oracle database
queries and utilities, and/or reporting software to perform analysis. The position requires excellent attention to detail.
Duties/Responsibilities
1. Responsible for design and maintenance of conversions, interfaces, reports and extensions of Oracle E-business
suite using Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, PL/SQL and Java.
2. Actively monitor various distribution, mailboxes as well as Tier 2 Help Desk ticket queue for incoming support
request or user questions, triage and assign tickets to other functional/technical analysts as needed.
3. Provide Tier 2 functional support and incident management for production Oracle EBS environment, interacting
directly with the end-users, client application administrators, and functional and technical resources as needed.
Including User Administration, maintain Profile Values assign Responsibilities, Concurrent Program setup, Value
Sets, and Descriptive Flexfields etc.
4. Perform basic troubleshooting with concurrent request search, document and download logs, outputs,
submission parameters, understand parent/child requests as well as request sets and when it would be relevant
to pull more than just the one specific program with questions/issues open.
5. Experience with EBS User Management, maintaining Responsibilities, managing Case/Service Request (Process
flow, configuration, etc.), understand TCA (OCO - Party Management and Relationship)
6. Perform preliminary troubleshooting to determine if reported problems are expected standard or customized
functionality or unexpected exceptions/defects.
7. Document reported issue including problem summary, relevant error messages, and all steps required to
recreate the problem and transactional examples (e.g., invoice, item, customer/party number, request ID, etc.)
in the applicable helpdesk/ticket tracking system; Reproduce/demonstrate problem and expected results to
technical resources as needed in the non-production environment wherever possible.
8. Coordinate with the customer focal points to ensure defects/improvements are properly prioritized, and the
pipeline and release scope/schedule reflects the same at all times.
9. Lead and assist in user group meetings, defect/improvement ticket prioritization, reporting, and tracking;
Document quality and timely meeting minutes.
10. Lead effort with the client to develop clear, complete, accurate and high quality business requirements that can
be tested against during QA and UAT.
11. Develop detailed, quality MD.050 with straightforward and effective solutions for reports, interfaces, alerts, OA
framework forms and extensions; Work with technical developers and Solution Architect to ensure designs are
feasible, complete and accurate.
12. Provide accurate estimates on functional designs and testing efforts.
13. Perform functional unit and quality assurance testing for solutions against approved requirements and
document results.
14. Assist/coordinate user acceptance testing for custom solutions as well as Oracle/CPU patching.
15. Develop, maintain, and execute application check lists and work instructions.
16. Develop and maintain application test scripts for various patch/release regression testing.
17. Apply application configurations to the system, including DFFs and extensible attributes and document
application configurations (BR100).
18. Assist in production release coordination/communication activities with project manager, system infrastructure,
and internal customers.
19. Be available for after-hours production release/patch and support activities as needed.
20. Perform other duties as may be assigned by management.
Education/Experience
1. Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
2. Minimum three (3) years of hands-on experience supporting Oracle EBS with demonstrated experience with
Oracle Applications covering Payables, Receivables, GL/SLA, and Trade Management. Experience with
Purchasing and iProcurement modules a plus
3. Strong knowledge and experience with demonstrated ability to create timely, thorough, clear and feasible
MD.050 design specifications for reports, interfaces, alerts, OA Framework forms and extensions.
4. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service in the most challenging environment.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to produce required training and/or procedural
(work instruction) documentation.
6. SQL*Plus and Discoverer working knowledge with ability to construct simple database queries a plus.
7. Experience with at least one packaged help desk/ticket tracking application
