Betterworks is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Software Engineer specializing in Front-end development to play a critical role in evolving our cutting-edge SaaS platform. This role will be instrumental in shaping the user experience and driving the technical direction of our front-end architecture.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Staff Software Engineer at Betterworks, you'll have a significant impact, collaborating closely with design, engineering, and product teams to build a world-class product. We're looking for someone who possesses deep front-end expertise, a passion for crafting exceptional user interfaces, and the ability to contribute to a high-performing team.
- Design, develop, and enhance core features of our complex enterprise performance management SaaS platform, focusing on a rich and engaging user experience.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern front-end technologies.
- Architect and implement robust and scalable frontend solutions, considering performance, accessibility, and user experience.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into detailed technical specifications.
- Lead and participate in code reviews, ensuring high coding standards and best practices.
- Proactively identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and bugs, ensuring optimal application performance and reliability.
- Contribute to the evolution of our frontend architecture, exploring and evaluating new technologies and approaches.
- Champion best practices in frontend development, including testing, documentation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment processes.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in frontend development, sharing your knowledge with the team.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of professional experience in front-end software development.
- Deep expertise in modern JavaScript/TypeScript and experience building complex single-page applications (SPAs).
- Proven experience with frontend frameworks like Vue.js, Angular, React, or similar modern frameworks.
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture patterns and best practices for building scalable and maintainable applications.
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
- Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for front-end applications.
- Experience with frontend build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, npm, yarn).
- Familiarity with RESTful API design and integration.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies for frontend deployments.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and best practices for front-end deployment.
- Experience with AWS, especially services relevant to front-end operations.
- Experience with backend technologies (Node.js, Python, Go) is a plus
- Strong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
