Senior Privacy Operations Officer - Part Time
Job Title: Senior Privacy Operations Officer-Temp (Hours: 15 25 hours per week)
Location: Roseville, CA 95747
Duration: 6+ Months
Description:
**Position can be remote or onsite or hybrid. Part time, 15-25 hours a week, but must work every day (M-F) between hours 8AM and 5PM. If on East Coast, they need to work PST hours.

(1) Experience with privacy management tools, e.g. OneTrust;
(2) Broad knowledge of privacy regulations pertinent to (FERPA, HIPAA, CA 1798.82, and CMIA), and subject matter expertise in one or more;
(3)Expert knowledge of global data protection and privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, LGPD, PIPL and PIPA)

As a Senior Privacy Operations Officer -Temp, you will provide seasoned judgement, leadership, and subject matter expertise across the Office s many services and programs. Along the way, you will frequently collaborate with staff, faculty, Senior Leadership, researchers, and partner departments such as Legal and Information Security.
Core Duties:
- Coordinate all privacy operations activities and ensure quality control compliance
- Provide expert privacy guidance on complex matters
- Conduct privacy assessments for projects, systems, and departments
- Work closely with and respond to requests from Data Protection Champions
- Encourage privacy best practices through awareness and training programs
- Coordinate the creation of guidance documents on various privacy topics
- Coordinate incident response and investigations
- Maintain and update the University s privacy policies
- Monitor developments and trends in privacy and formulate strategy accordingly
- Represent the University Privacy Office in different activities and meetings
- Engage in other activities assigned by the Chief Privacy Officer
Education and Experience
- Bachelor s degree and seven years of privacy work experience
- Experience with privacy management tools, e.g. OneTrust
- Professional privacy certification (e.g. CIPP, PECB/CDPO, CPD etc)
- Legal experience is preferred
- Experience in higher education, health care organizations, or research institutions is preferred
- Experience creating and conducting AI assessments
- Sound knowledge of information technology is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated practical privacy operations experience
- Outstanding written and oral communications
- Broad knowledge of privacy regulations pertinent to (FERPA, HIPAA, CA 1798.82, and CMIA), and subject matter expertise in one or more
- Expert knowledge of global data protection and privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, LGPD, PIPL and PIPA)
- Practical experience in responding to data security incidents
- Experience working with vendors and other third parties
- Experience drafting and negotiating privacy contracts
- Experience leading successful data protection risk management programs
- Proven track record of pragmatism, sound judgement, and balanced risk management
- Broad understanding of modern information technology systems and cybersecurity
- Demonstrated familiarity with modern collaboration tools such as video conferencing, instant messaging, document management, wikis, calendaring, ticketing, etc.
