We are seeking two motivated and detail-oriented summer interns to join our System Engineering team at Columbia Generating Station. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to the safe and reliable operation of the Northwest's only commercial nuclear energy facility.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for the designated organization based on assigned projects. Assigned projects will be in the area of technical practices in support of the department. This position will be directly accountable to assigned department staff and will support assigned project related activities and initiatives.
Principal Accountabilities
Requires current part to full time enrollment status, or a recent graduate, in a bachelor's or higher degree program at an accredited college or university. Area of study must be in a technical field related to the assigned role.
Target hire is a student at a Junior or Senior status at the time the internship commences. Students earlier in their college experience will be considered, along with recent graduates (within six months of graduation).
Must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative G.P.A. unless approved by Human Resources. A High School diploma/GED is required.
This position closes Thursday, February 27th, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. (PST).
Pay Range
Pay is based on academic level
Freshman Salary: $18.75 per hour
Sophomore Salary: $18.75 per hour
Junior Salary: $24.44 per hour
Senior Salary: $26.52 per hour
Benefits
Temporary employees may be required to participate in the Washington State Pension Plan (PERS) and may also be eligible to enroll in medical insurance if the duration and hours worked requirements are met. Temporary employees accrue paid time off that is available to use after 90 days of employment.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on engineering projects
- Participate in system testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting
- Support the development of system engineering documentation and reports
- Pursuing a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
