Job Overview:

The Client is seeking a SharePoint Product Specialist contractor for a 12-month engagement with the Engineering Application Services Department as an ECM Business Analyst. This role focuses on business analysis, solution design, and project execution to support Operations and Traffic business processes in the transportation lifecycle.

The selected candidate will:

  • Define and prioritize SharePoint and web-based projects.
  • Break down designs into manageable work items.
  • Track project status, manage communication, and handle dependencies.
  • Perform quality assurance testing and coordinate test validation.
  • Develop training materials and ensure proper customer support.

The candidate must have strong experience with SharePoint design, including custom lists, libraries, and content types, along with expertise in project management, product ownership, and SDLC (System Development Life Cycle).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design SharePoint and web-based solutions to support Operations and Traffic business processes.
  • Break down designs into well-defined work items for the development team.
  • Prioritize, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of work items.
  • Document program and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate with clients to implement re-engineered business processes.
  • Conduct quality assurance testing for SharePoint and web-based content.
  • Develop and deliver training materials for updated business processes.
  • Provide quality control and guidance for team members.
  • Ensure operational support and proper communication for new solutions.

Required Skills & Experience (5+ years):

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Strong SharePoint experience in designing custom lists, libraries, and content types.
  • Experience designing and testing SharePoint and web-based content management solutions.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience evaluating and re-engineering business processes.
  • Ability to write clear, concise technical training materials and documentation.
  • Understanding of Application Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience as a SharePoint Business Analyst.
  • Experience in Quality Assurance testing.
  • Experience with application support.
  • Working knowledge of NCDOT Operations and Traffic business processes.
  • Understanding of NCDOT transportation lifecycle business processes.
  • Extensive experience as a SharePoint Designer or Owner.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Balsamiq for prototyping.
