Netflix’s Labor Relations team is responsible for managing the company’s relationships with all entertainment industry unions and guilds. They represent Netflix externally in negotiations for various multi-employer agreements with unions like DGA, SAG-AFTRA, IATSE and more and provide expert advice internally to the studio on a broad range of labor-related issues involved in production.
Netflix’s labor team is seeking an Associate (Counsel) to help support its slate of live action and animated films. The successful candidate will have prior experience in a business affairs, legal, production, and/or labor relations setting, and will be self-motivated, quick-thinking, flexible, and able to juggle multiple responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail. This is a demanding and fast-paced role that requires curiosity and significant initiative. This role will report to the Senior Director, Labor Relations.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Handle submission and responses to union/guild requests and requirements, such as information requests, waivers, and DGA/WGA Weekly Worklists.
- Provide advice to internal groups and production personnel regarding the terms of union and guild agreements.
- Assist in negotiating above and below-the-line union and guild agreements in a multi-employer group.
- Research, compile, and prepare data for use in grievance hearings, arbitration proceedings, labor/management initiatives and collective bargaining negotiations.
- Investigating and resolving labor-related grievances and claims.
- Support the Labor Relations team on projects and priorities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- BA/BS required; J.D. preferred;
- 2-3+ years of related work experience is recommended;
- Demonstrated good judgment and strong critical thinking skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
- Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment;
- Comfortable with fluidity and iteration, and open to change and new ideas.
- High level of organization, detail orientation and ability to time-manage.
- Willingness to tackle matters outside their area of expertise.
