Join a great team while contributing to a meaningful mission at the nation s leading child health advocacy organization, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). This position will manage the design, development, testing, and support of the AAP enterprise cross-functional, multi-platform software applications, and the design, development, and testing of corrective fixes, enhancements, and smaller work efforts in support of business operations, as well as, assist with the development and implementation of technical strategic priorities.

Qualifications we are seeking:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of relevant education/certifications and work experience required.
  • At least four years related experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management required.
  • Must have experience with full development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, and testing, as well as supervising technical staff or serving as a technical team lead.
  • Deep understanding of programming languages and knowledge of web technologies essential, including .NET, ASP.NET, VB.NET, SSL, HTTP, MS SQL, MSSSIR, MS SSRS, Object Oriented design principals, C#, HTML, and XML/XSL.
  • Experience with Web technologies (SharePoint, CSS, Java) preferred.
  • Must be able to perform complex applications programming, effectively lead a technical team, manage multiple priorities simultaneously within tight deadlines, be flexible with changing and overlapping priorities, deliver/lead large scale applications on time and within budget, take initiative to move projects forward, collaborate effectively with various internal and external constituents and liaise between technical team and end users, communicate and document technical concepts and ideas to a non-technical audience, work both independently and as part of a team, and promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team-oriented work environment, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Excellent analytical, project management, diplomacy, verbal/written communication, and leadership skills required.
  • Occasional evening/weekend work and some travel are required.
