Lead Java Developer
is the not-for-profit, independent system operator responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region and planning for the future of the electric grid. We are at the forefront of New England s ongoing transition to clean energy.
We are looking for a skilled Web Developer with expertise in Java and the Spring MVC framework, along with strong SQL skills. The ideal candidate should be able to understand business problems, develop effective solutions, and deliver high-quality software.

How you will make an impact:
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Java and Spring MVC.
- Write efficient, scalable, and secure SQL queries for database interactions.
- Understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure code quality, performance, and security best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement features.
- Debug and resolve application issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant major
- Strong proficiency in Java and the Spring MVC framework
- Experience with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle)
- Understanding of web development concepts, including RESTful APIs and MVC architecture
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze business requirements
- Experience with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
- Knowledge of version control systems like Git
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Desired, but not required:
- Experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with JPA/Hibernate for database interaction
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation
