Burlington Recreation and Parks operate four marinas on three lakes. Various types of recreational opportunities are offered throughout the lake system. An employee in this class is responsible for assisting in the operations of the marina and some maintenance of the grounds at Lake Mackintosh in Burlington by communicating with the public and performing various general tasks.

Examples of Duties
Lake Operations and Guest Engagement
- Rule Ambassador: Clearly explain lake rules and regulations to patrons.
- Fee Management: Collect and accurately account for fees.
- Facility Rentals: Oversee private boat check-ins, boat rentals, and facility bookings, including open-air shelters and clubhouse rentals.
- Area Oversight: Patrol bank fishing areas, picnic spots, and the park to address issues and ensure safety.
- Cleanliness Commitment: Maintain restrooms, picnic areas, playgrounds, walkways, and rental facilities to a high standard.
- Trash Control: Regularly check and empty trash bins to keep the park tidy.
- Boat Assistance: Support rental boat activities, including kayaks, canoes, and rowboats.
- Boat Care: Clean and maintain rental boats for optimal guest experience.
- Lake Patrol: Monitor lake activities and provide towing assistance as needed.
- Park Checks: Conduct hourly inspections of park areas.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and helpful support to patrons during their visit.
- Team Support: Perform related duties as required to contribute to overall operations.
Boat Operation
- Confidently operate a boat to assist with lake patrol and towing needs (training provided).
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Valid Driver License
- Must be able to complete a Boater Safety Course
- Some experience with boats or maintenance is preferred
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to push out rental boats and put rental boats back in storage, able to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to walk up and down steps and walk some around the park when doing general duties
- This employee will be exposed to various weather conditions.
