Summary Of Opportunity

The School Safety Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the school's safety programs and initiatives. This includes assisting with the implementation of safety protocols, maintaining records, coordinating safety drills, supporting communication efforts, and ensuring a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safety Protocol Management: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining school safety procedures, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate records related to safety drills, emergency procedures, incident reports, and safety equipment inventories.
  • Communication: Serve as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries, including assisting with the distribution of safety policies and procedures to staff, students, and parents.
  • Coordination of Safety Drills: Schedule and assist with the organization of safety drills, including fire, lockdown, and evacuation drills, ensuring timely execution and proper documentation.
  • Safety Equipment Oversight: Monitor and ensure the availability and proper functioning of safety equipment, such as first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency supplies.
  • Assistance in Crisis Situations: Support the school safety team during emergency situations, providing logistical and administrative assistance.
  • Staff Training Support: Assist in the scheduling and preparation of staff training sessions related to school safety, emergency protocols, and crisis response.
  • Data Entry & Reporting: Input data into relevant safety management systems and prepare reports on safety-related activities for administration and compliance purposes.
  • General Administrative Support: Perform general administrative duties, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, handling correspondence, and supporting other school safety initiatives as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Certification, And Licensure Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in school administration, safety management, or a related field is an advantage.
