Electrical Project Superintendent
The Electrical Project Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the on-site execution of electrical systems and infrastructure for a long-term project. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in electrical installations, a deep understanding of construction processes, and the ability to manage teams effectively while ensuring compliance with safety standards and project timelines. Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership & Coordination:
- Oversee and manage all on-site electrical activities, including installations, testing, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review project plans, specifications, and schedules to align fieldwork with project goals.
- Team Supervision:
- Lead and supervise a team of electricians and subcontractors, ensuring high-quality work and adherence to deadlines.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to achieve project objectives.
- Quality Assurance & Safety:
- Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications.
- Scheduling & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for stakeholders, highlighting accomplishments, challenges, and solutions.
- Material & Resource Management:
- Monitor and manage the procurement and inventory of electrical materials and equipment.
- Coordinate the delivery and storage of materials to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges on-site, ensuring minimal disruption to project progress.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in electrical construction, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale electrical projects.
- Technical Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards (e.g., NEC).
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and project documentation.
- Experience with construction management software and tools is a plus.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician certification.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
