Legal Assistant
Overview

Duties

- Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw and other resources to support case preparation.
- Maintain organized files and documentation for easy access and retrieval.
- Proofread legal documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Provide executive administrative support, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information for cases.
- Stay updated on tribal law regulations and environmental law changes that may impact ongoing cases.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Assistant or in a similar role within a law firm or legal department.
- Proficient in using Westlaw for legal research purposes.
- Strong proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience providing executive administrative support is a plus.
- Knowledge of tribal law regulations is an advantage but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
