Job Description
Gridiron IT is seeking a Linux Engineer.
Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Linux OS on a variety of server-side systems
Establish, coordinate, and validate system backups
Monitor server / system performance; identify & recommend resolutions; develop & deploy solutions
Configure and manage user access to Linux systems; monitor system stability and security
Provide Linux technical training and support to OIG staff
Assist with testing and debugging of Linux apps, scripts, etc.
Advise OIG staff of known / suspected vulnerabilities; recommend and implement countermeasures / remediation to mitigate vulnerabilities
Identify, implement, and manage Linux configuration management solutions
Build, implement, and monitor services on DEV, QA and Production servers
Requirements
5+ years of experience in Linux administration in physical/virtual environments, including Azure
5+ years of experience with Linux OS (RHEL & Ubuntu)
5+ years of experience with web server technologies
5+ years of experience with Ansible
Experience in high-security environment preferred to include DoD STIG and/or CIS benchmarksKnowledge of Linux (RHEL & Ubuntu) system administration in a Windows Environment
Knowledge of programming / coding principles and methodologies
Highly analytical; able to examine error logs, system performance data, user information, etc. to ensure a high level of reliability / system stability
Familiar with information security best practices and techniques
Excellent interpersonal communications skills; able to clearly articulate system issues / requirements to IT professional and laypersons
Proven problem-solving / troubleshooting skills
Experience integrating Linux systems with systems / solutions to manage load-balancing, security, firewalls, port administration, etc.
Desired SkillsBachelor s Degree in a related technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, etc.)

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $141,000 - 151,000yr (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
