Responsibility
The Crisis Care Coordinator is primarily responsible for functioning as a first response intervention for mental health and/or addictions related crisis where the individual requests intervention by providing de-escalation skills and supporting the individual to stabilize in the moment with virtual or face-to-face care. Must be able to assist with Non-violent Crisis Intervention or other behavioral management techniques. Requires extended periods of time entering data on a computer screen.
Experience
Requirements
Must have a minimum of one year of direct mental health experience either in an inpatient or an outpatient setting.
Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques is required.
Knowledge of community resources is desirable.

The Crisis Care Coordinator is primarily responsible for functioning as a first response intervention for mental health and/or addictions related crisis where the individual requests intervention by providing de-escalation skills and supporting the individual to stabilize in the moment with virtual or face-to-face care. The Crisis Care Coordinator will provide follow-up brief intervention support and resources for continued success for the individual.
Key Tasks and
Responsibilities
- Provide response intervention for requested mental health crisis where the individual requests a response intervention by 988, Arthur Center Community Health, Emergency Services within the catchment area or other means of requests.
- Using clinical skills, assist in de-escalating the acuity of the crisis, support the individual to stabilize, and provide referrals or resources to local mental health services as needed.
- Complete risk assessments and safety plans to determine needs for the individual.
- Where clinically appropriate, provide follow-up brief intervention support to crisis services recipients within 72 hours of crisis services.
- Consulting with service providers to arrange necessary services and follow up for the individual.
- Providing coordinated, integrated care within a multi-disciplinary team approach and communicating with the multi-disciplinary service providers regarding the individuals service and supports needed for continued stabilization.
- Plan for culturally appropriate care services for individuals experiencing a crisis.
- Providing in person mobile crisis response where appropriate and per policy/procedure.
- Participate in rotation for backup daytime mobile crisis requests.
- Review BHR and on-call documentation daily and facilitate continuity of care for clients when necessary.
- Provide support to Arthur Center staff, family members or referral sources regarding commitment procedures when required.
- Attend required department meetings as scheduled.
- Assist in the on-call rotation for mobile crisis.
- Participate in supervision sessions on a regular basis with supervisor.
- Maintain adequate up-to-date records and provide documentation on each client using Arthur Center guidelines.
- Meet all internal and external reporting requirements including data collection for Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement evaluation and DMH reporting requirements.
- Attend educational seminars and meetings related to professional education and maintenance of licensure.
- Maintain an up-to-date resource manual and be familiar with the contents to provide information and referral services to clients.
- Attend DMH Crisis Services meetings as required.
- Maintain updated training in MCR core competencies as determined by DMH.
- Assist with program development and community engagement on an as needed basis.
- Other duties as requested by the supervisor/department director.
