Position Summary

The Transportation Driver is responsible for safely transporting clients to various locations.

Essential Functions

  • Safely transports clients to and from various locations.
  • Arrives at destinations on schedule.
  • Always interacts with clients in a professional manner.
  • Plans for traffic, construction and weather delays.
  • Uses navigation applications to determine the best route.
  • Ensures the safety of all passengers by ensuring seatbelt use at all times.
  • Ensures the vehicle is fueled and ready for use; arranges for vehicles repairs as needed.
  • Keeps mileage records and repair records up to date.
  • Completes related tasks as directed.

Skills & Abilities

Education: No educational requirement necessary.

Experience: Minimum of one years' experience driving a 15-passenger van.

Computer Skills: Must have the ability to navigate traffic using navigation applications.

Certifications & Licenses: Must possess a valid driver’s license (can be non-CDL); must be licensed a minimum of five years in the United States.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 25 years of age.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Have no more than two moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the previous three years and no more than four moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the previous five years.
  • No major driving convictions in the past five years (including, but not limited to, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while impaired, failure to stop and report an accident, driving while license is suspended or revoked, possession of drugs or open containers of alcoholic beverage, reckless driving and/or participating in a speed contest, drag or highway race, or attempting to elude authorities).
  • Meet and comply with any laws/criteria required by the State of Florida (i.e. medical requirements, drug screen).
  • Must have own smartphone with data plan and high-speed internet connection.

Supervision: No supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: Primarily local travel; minimal intrastate travel required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

These conditions are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.

Environment: Transportation and community settings.

Physical: Standing, walking, prolonged periods sitting in a transportation vehicle. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as needed.

Hearing: Hear within the normal audio range with or without correction.
