Description

SAIC is currently seeking an Electronics Technician in Middletown, RI. This candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of electrical & mechanical engineers, and other technicians to support the Fabrication and testing of systems built in facility to support advanced Naval Test Facility's.

Job Duties:
  • Fabrication of test fixtures through the use of light metalworking under supervision.
  • Shadowing a senior technician while they perform assembly tasks in order to learn the Fabrication/assembly techniques to adhere to manufacturing standards.
  • Assemble or install equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or termination.
  • May create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair prototypes, cables, and fixtures.
  • Route, terminate and dress wire harness neatly.
  • Assist with troubleshooting system issues.
  • Assist with system calibrations for all sensor types (pressure transducers, flow meters, thermal couples, accelerometers).
  • Assists with facility setup and teardown for multiple testing operations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have the ability to obtain SECRET level clearance.
  • Experience with some of the following:
    • Comfortable working with basic electrical and mechanical tools.
    • Familiarity with basic electrical equipment such as voltmeters or soldering irons.
    • Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
    • Basic knowledge in reading electrical schematics.
