Job Description:

The DHS Database Administrator will work closely with application developers to integrate databases with applications, ensuring efficient data modeling and database management. This role involves database security, tuning, monitoring, and compliance while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with developers and project teams to analyze requirements and model data structures.
  • Create and maintain efficient database schemas.
  • Manage SQL database backups and recovery procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with the Division of Enterprise Technology (DET) for:
    • Server patching validation
    • Software upgrades
    • User access controls
    • Creation of new servers or databases in the Enterprise SQL or Oracle environment
  • Ensure changes follow DHS change management policies.
  • Maintain database structures according to DHS security policies, compliance regulations, and business requirements.
  • Work with state departments, technical administrators, business professionals, and third-party vendors.
  • Ensure government security and data encryption compliance (MARS-E 2.2, HIPAA, PII).

Required Skills (Need Majority; 8+ Years):
