Job Description:

The Senior Business Analyst (BA) will work on multiple projects that support the mission of improving outcomes for Texas students. This position involves advanced business analysis work, where the BA will act as the key liaison between program stakeholders and software development teams, ensuring that business requirements are effectively translated into system specifications.

The BA will contribute throughout the entire software development life cycle (SDLC), from requirement gathering to post-implementation enhancements. Upon establishing a requirements baseline, the focus will shift toward requirement management, verification, and process optimization.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8 years of experience eliciting requirements through customer interviews and creating well-documented system requirements.
  • 8 years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvements.
  • 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases following business analysis best practices.
  • 8 years of experience designing mockups and wireframes following UX best practices.
  • 5 years of experience demonstrating strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • 5 years of experience demonstrating strong writing and organizational skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3 years of experience working with requirements management software, such as Modern Requirements.
  • 3 years of experience working with issue tracking software, such as Atlassian Jira.
  • 2 years of experience working with or closely collaborating with Texas Education Agency (TEA) or another state or local education agency.
