You will establish and oversee foundational processes for payer contracting, credentialing, eligibility, and revenue cycle management. This role will require you to roll up your sleeves to lead and grow a small, dynamic team focused on scaling our insurance operations. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in Product, Analytics, Care Operations, and Business Operations to set the strategy and vision for insurance operations, building systems and processes that balance operational efficiency with an exceptional experience for patients and providers.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and Own Insurance Operations: Build scalable, efficient processes for payer contracting, credentialing, eligibility, and revenue cycle management to align with growth objectives.
  • Payer Contracting and Credentialing: Secure state and national contracts while designing scalable enrollment processes to support expansion.
  • Revenue Cycle Team Leadership: Build workflows and policies to optimize financial outcomes, reduce claim denials, and enhance the patient experience.
  • Eligibility Operations: Serve as the in-house benefits and eligibility expert, leading efforts to build systems and processes that deliver accurate, real-time information to patients and the care operations team. Ensure a seamless patient experience through proactive issue resolution and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Data-Driven Oversight: Design and manage dashboards and analytics to monitor metrics across payer enrollment, credentialing, claims processing, and eligibility. Leverage data to drive continuous improvement, operational accountability, and transparency.
  • Compliance: Oversee compliance protocols to ensure adherence to all payer requirements, industry standards, and best practices, supporting seamless operations as Innerwell scales nationally.
  • Hands-On Execution: Provide hands-on leadership in addressing challenges related to claims denials, eligibility discrepancies, and payer relationships. Implement solutions that ensure scalability, efficiency, and exceptional outcomes.

You’ll Be a Great Fit for This Role If:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in insurance operations or healthcare, with a proven track record of building scalable systems.
  • You’re looking to step into a bigger role where you can own and drive critical initiatives for company growth.
  • You thrive in start-up environments and have 3+ years of experience working cross-functionally in fast-paced organizations.
  • You’re a data-driven problem solver who excels in ambiguous situations and loves tackling challenges head-on. SQL expertise is a plus.
  • You have strong leadership skills and experience building and managing teams.
  • You are mission-driven, passionate about improving behavioral health care, and ready to make a significant impact.
