Scientist, Molecular and Cell Biology
Job Summary
At QLD Biotherapeutics, we develop cell and gene therapies using innovative technologies to treat devastating diseases. We are seeking a highly motivated molecular biologist to join the AAV therapeutics team, focusing on early drug discovery and technology development. He/she will work in a team-based laboratory environment to perform molecular and cellular experiments to facilitate rapid screening of therapeutic candidates.
This position provides an excellent learning and growth opportunity, to work closely with an experienced drug discovery and development team and contribute to early stages of research and development activities in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Participate in experimental design/planning and new assay development/optimization
Perform molecular biology and cell-based assays with minimal supervision
Perform data analysis, interpret results and present to the team
Apply novel technologies in gene and/or cell therapy to on-going and new projects
Contributes to multiple projects executed in parallel
Provide general laboratory assistance, such as ordering materials, organizing supplies and maintaining equipment
Qualifications
MS or PhD in Biology, Immunology, Pharmacology or a related discipline
5+ years of relevant research experience
Extensive hands-on experience in molecular cloning and mammalian cell culture
Experience in protein analysis using Western blot and ELISA
Competency with Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism and SnapGene
Strong record-keeping and data documentation skills
Excellent organization and communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
Research experience in neuroscience or ophthalmology desired
