Jr. Project Manager (5+ yrs) to support the SDLC and implementation of enterprise technology

CONTRACT: Option for long-term renewal in June 2025
HYBRID: 2 days/week MUST be a CURRENT WI resident. No relocation allowed.

Location: Madison, WI

Purpose: The Project Manager will lead the delivery of projects designed to deliver superior technology solutions and services. Reports to the Deputy Chief Information Officer.
Responsibilities Breakdown:

  • 40% Successful delivery of enterprise projects and oversight over all phases of project delivery.
  • 20% Assist in the development or refinement organizational project management best practices
  • 20% Define, document, and communicate project status and constraints utilizing project management software and standards.
  • 10% Coordinate change management activities required for successful implementation and operationalization.
  • 5% Establish and maintain relationships with project teams and relevant stakeholders.
  • 5% Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, as required, to escalate project related issues.

Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ yrs as a Project Manager leading IT implementations and SDLC
  • 3+ yrs collaborating with vendors on software selection
  • Project management software (i.e Asana, MS Project, Visio, Smartsheet, etc)
  • Change management knowledge
  • Agile methodology

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Leading a project for software selection for business team
  • MS Sharepoint development projects
  • Contractor leading experience
  • PMP or similar certification
  • Scrum knowledge
