Job Title: Epic Application Coordinator (Beaker)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an Epic Systems Analyst to support the implementation, stabilization, and optimization of a newly acquired hospital. The facility will transition to Epic (HealthLink) as its Electronic Medical Record (EMR) at the start of Q2 2025. To meet the aggressive timeline of less than three months, additional resources are needed to assist the overburdened HealthLink team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with operational leadership to identify and document business and technical requirements.
  • Troubleshoot end-user issues and provide resolution.
  • Define, document, and execute new or revised workflow builds within Epic Beaker.
  • Maintain and build integration workflows with third-party applications.
  • Test accuracy and viability of workflows and system configurations.
  • Assist with post-go-live support and stabilization.
  • Optimize workflows for future project phases.
  • Maintain communication with Epic representatives and ensure adherence to application specifications.
  • Perform in-depth workflow analysis, data collection, and reporting.
  • Analyze new functionality in Epic releases, determine impact, and test updates.
  • Collect and document potential system enhancements.
  • Establish standards for naming, numbering, and security classifications following Epic guidelines.

Typical Tasks:

  • Conduct interviews with end-users and stakeholders to create business, functional, and technical requirement documents.
  • Provide configuration recommendations based on Epic software capabilities.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements within Epic.
  • Ensure system interoperability with other supporting applications and interfaces.
  • Design, develop, and execute testing processes, scripts, and end-user testing.
  • Support training efforts by providing information to instructional designers.
  • Document work progress, activity logs, and build tracking.

Qualifications & Success Factors:

  • 3+ years of Epic Beaker application build and implementation experience.
  • Prior experience with new hospital integrations.
< data-start="2381" data-end="2417">Educational Requirements:</>
  • Certification, accreditation, or proficiency in Epic Beaker (must be clearly identified in submitted resumes).
< data-start="2542" data-end="2578">Desirable Qualifications:</>
  • Experience in business analysis and project management.
  • Epic implementation experience in a health system or hospital.
  • Prior work with safety-net hospitals.
  • Ability to lead and take ownership of tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.

Work Expectations:

  • Flexible work hours based on discussions with the reporting manager.
  • Must meet the business needs of a West Coast organization.
