Our client is looking for a SQL DBA who s primary responsibility will be to work with application developers to integrate databases with applications. Candidate will collaborate with developers and project team members, analyze requirements, model data structures, and create efficient database schemas.

Tasks:

  • Responsible to manage SQL database backups, recovery procedures, and be a liaison with the Division of Enterprise Technology (DET) in the validation of server patching, software upgrades, user access controls, and the creation of new servers or database in the Enterprise SQL or Oracle environment.
  • Responsible to ensure that changes are planned and follow proper DHS change management policies and that database structures are maintained in accordance with the Department of Health Services security policies, compliance regulations, and business requirements.
  • This role requires interaction with cross-functional teams. These teams may be comprised of people from other State Departments with various levels of Database and application development knowledge and experience. The teams may include Technical Administrators or business professionals from program areas, infrastructure, application development, or 3rd party Vendors.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Strong communication with different stakeholders both verbally and written are necessary for success in this position.

NOTE: The candidate must be a WI resident or willing to relocate to WI prior to the start of the role at their own expense. This position is primarily remote with quarterly onsite meetings with the section in the office. Weekend or off work hours may be required to support application upgrades or database maintenance.

Skills Required:

  • 8 years - Experience with SQL database and services in supporting application development teams.
  • 8 years - Experience with current and legacy versions of SQL
  • 8 years - Experience collaborating with developers and project team members, analyze requirements user requirements, model data structures, and create efficient database schemas.
  • 8 years - Experience writing complex SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and update data within the database.
  • 8 years - Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, 2019, 2022
  • 8 years - Experience with SSIS / SSAS
  • 8 years - Experience with Visual Studio
  • 8 years - Experience with Create database objects
  • 8 years - Experience with Database security
  • 8 years - Database schema management - creation, inserts, deletes, etc.
  • 8 years - Experience with Database links and multiple database instances
  • 5 years - Experience with Redgate Comparison tool
  • Experience with Database Tuning and Maintenance to assure highest level of system availability and performance
  • 5 years - Experience with Database monitoring tools
  • 3 years - Experience with Logical database design
  • 4 years - Experience with PL/SQL
  • Bachelor s Degree in a related field

Skills Desired A plus to have:

  • Experience in PowerBI with reporting or database analysis
  • Experience with supporting Oracle databases for Java applications.
  • Experience in the migration of application databases to a new platform
  • Experience with mission critical functionality which contain sensitive and or regulatory information such as MARS-E 2.2, HIPAA, or PII
  • Knowledge of Oracle including stored procedures and SQL Tuning
  • Oracle 19c system level experience
  • Oracle database security, synonyms, roles, privileges
  • Oracle data dictionary views
  • Oracle PL/SQL unit testing
  • Oracle SQL tuning
  • SQL Plus
  • Informatica
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
