Job Description:
Developers are responsible for planning, developing, testing, and documenting computer programs using programming techniques and computer systems. They assess user requests for new or modified programs, such as financial or human resource management systems, clinical research trial results, traffic pattern analysis, or bridge design specifications, to determine feasibility, cost, time requirements, system compatibility, and computer capabilities.
Developers also consult with users to identify operating procedures and clarify program objectives, formulating plans to develop programs using structured analysis, object-oriented development, and other methodologies.
Project Workstreams:
< data-start="961" data-end="1026">PowerBI Development Cycle for Public-Facing Dashboards</>- Consult users about existing data sources, functionality, and deployment procedures for the I2I database and ASEP public-facing dashboards.
- Identify the best solution for public-facing dashboards using existing secure dashboards.
- Plan, develop, and test procedures to extract, load, and deploy data between the I2I database and PowerBI dashboards.
- Adapt and deploy PowerBI dashboards from a secure environment to a public-facing location.
- Deploy the full solution to production.
- Integrate user acceptance testing (UAT) feedback from the EDRS team to refine the final product.
- Develop documentation to ensure ongoing maintenance, data loads, and dashboard updates.
- Consult users on existing data sources, functionality, and deployment procedures for the ArcGIS map of all Educator Preparation Programs (EPPs) in Texas.
- Develop a PowerBI map based on requirements.
- Integrate UAT feedback from the EDRS team to refine the final product.
- Develop documentation to support ongoing maintenance.
Candidate Skills and Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- 8 years of experience with PowerBI or other dashboard applications.
- 8 years of experience with SAS.
- 4 years of experience with Data Gateways.
- 4 years of experience with SQL.
- 4 years of experience creating and maintaining documentation.
- 2 years of experience with SmartSheets.
- 2 years of experience with ArcGIS.
Preferred Experience:
- 4 years of experience with Relational Databases.
- 2 years of experience with Education Data.
- 2 years of experience at a State of Texas Agency.
- 2 years of experience with the Ed-Fi Data Standard.
Other Special Requirements:
- Prior work with Education Data.
- Prior work at a Texas State Agency.
- Prior experience with the Ed-Fi Data Standard.
