Project Overview
Sage Financials and ERP division seeks a Content Operations Engineer to join the Language Experience & Technology team on a contract basis. This position is designed for an experienced professional who can actively contribute to the team's objectives and under the guidance of the lead engineer. There is potential for conversion to a full-time role for the right candidate.
Scope of Work
The contractor will play a key role in developing and maintaining Sage's content and language platform, working closely with the lead engineer/architect and collaborating with Documentation, Education, and Localization teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automated tests for content platforms and websites
- Lead efforts in migrating processes and infrastructure to GitHub
- Build apps and integrations between internal and external systems
- Train machine learning models and implement AI for automation tasks
- Contribute significantly to shaping the platform that supports the organization's content initiatives
- Apply and optimize cloud technologies relevant to the project
- Assist the lead engineer in technical decision-making and problem-solving
Deliverables
- High-quality code contributions to assigned projects
- Comprehensive documentation of developed features and processes
- Regular progress reports and active participation in team meetings
- Robust automated tests for platform components
- Technical recommendations for platform improvements
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, APIs, and markup languages (HTML, XML, markdown)
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD, git, GitHub Actions, static site generators, React, Playwright, and search indexing
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience in software development or content engineering
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
- Location and work hours
- Consistent work schedule overlapping with team members (7am-4pm Eastern Time Zone)
- Preference for US or EU locations based on above time zone crossover.
