Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Remote Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and processing patient billing information, ensuring accuracy, and working with insurance providers to resolve payment discrepancies. This position requires attention to detail, familiarity with healthcare billing systems, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical procedures and diagnoses for insurance billing using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients to ensure correct billing.
- Submit insurance claims electronically or manually to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with payer requirements.
- Post payments from insurance companies and patients into the billing system.
- Address patient billing questions, clarifications, and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure all billing processes adhere to current healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
- At least 1-2 years of experience in medical billing or a similar role in a healthcare setting.
- Proficient in using medical billing software
- Strong knowledge of medical billing codes
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and billing tasks.
