Overview

We are seeking a Product Owner to join a dynamic design systems team responsible for creating and maintaining a design system that feeds into a component library for developers. The team's primary focus is on consistency and efficiency to enhance user experience across digital platforms.

This role will support seven designers and a Design Team Product Owner, ensuring work tracking, design processes, and collaboration across teams are well-structured and executed effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure UX/UI design activities are prioritized, planned, and streamlined—from concept to design iteration and technical development.

  • Facilitate collaboration between the design team, product management, and technology teams.

  • Utilize design thinking skills to define future product vision and state goals.

  • Research, document, and communicate competitive landscape insights to support design decisions.

  • Manage project and tracking documents, including project plans, work-back schedules, and meeting notes.

  • Organize and prioritize complex information to make it clear and actionable.

  • Keep the team and key stakeholders informed on design progress.

  • Lead multiple workflows and deliver projects on expedited timelines, setting expectations for the team.

  • Coordinate and facilitate design handoffs, ensuring deliverables meet all requirements.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop roadmaps and strategies for digital experience enhancements.

  • Leverage knowledge of customer and employee journeys to influence design and product strategies.

Projects & Initiatives:

  • Work tracking in Jira for a busy design team.

  • Participating in design sprint ceremonies.

  • Supporting the upgrade of design documentation platforms.

  • Leading the evolution of design system processes in Figma and other tools.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of experience in the following:

    • Figma

    • Agile methodology

    • Workfront or Asana

    • PowerPoint

    • Easy BI reporting tools

    • Understanding design requirements and translating them into Jira stories

  • Experience working with design teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and alignment.

  • Background in design system or design operations (Design Ops) processes.

  • Proven ability to listen to competing priorities and effectively place them on a roadmap.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Excellent organizational skills, including scheduling meetings, documentation, and information management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience or background in UX/UI Design (flex skill/nice to have).
