Job Title: Safety Professional
Location: Morrisville, NC 27560
Duration: 12+ Months Contract

Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Safety Professional to join our team. The Safety Professional will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among employees.
Safety Metrics and Reporting:
OSHA metrics report
Monthly Safety Data input into Enterprise JDEHS (secure) database (Recordable data: RIR rate, DART cases, Near Miss, Workers Comp costs, Number of employees, and work hours)
Incident and Injury Management:
Support worker s comp claims
Injury and Near miss review and investigation
Safety Documentation and Compliance:
Review emergency and safety documentation for correctness and consistency with other Client s locations
Maintain and implement Client s Health and Safety (JDHS) programs (yearly updates and audits)
Review OSHA and Life Safety 101 policies
Maintain correct signage and markings throughout the facility
Submit/Store documents per Retention Schedule
Training and Certification:
PPE Approval and certification
Regular monthly/annual safety training program
SOP creation for major machine shop equipment (LOTO, Confined Space, 70e electrical, Lithium-Ion battery safety)
New Employee Safety (NES) Orientation (design agenda, contact new/transfer employees, submit names into JDU)
Ongoing Employee awareness training
Audits and Inspections:
Quarterly SEAMS audits (organize closing gaps)
Complete yearly Enterprise audit
Equipment Implementation (new equipment review, RED tag, PPE standards)
Emergency Preparedness and Response:
Schedule regular drills with the fire department
Manage Emergency Response Team (ERT) (monthly meetings, recruitment, quarterly drills, manage equipment/supplies)
Yearly Safety Events and Drills (Fire/Tornado/Earthquake/Severe Weather)
Update Red Book on employee-facing Emergency Procedures
Test and use Emergency communication methods (EverBridge, Email, PA system, Radio)
Coordination and Liaison:
Work closely with DG Coordinator/Hazmat contact
Liaison between Corporate EH&S for new information, procedures
Work with lab manager to address non-compliance for inspections (fire, sprinklers, backflow testing)
Contractor Support (JDHS 18, Avetta POC) (monthly audits, emergency approver, contractor POC)
Government Agencies Relations Mediator (POC for OSHA, Homeland Security, Police, Fire, Food Safety, IDNR, EPA)
Other Tasks that sometimes are assigned to the Safety Professional:
Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity Coordinator (coordinate Incident Response Team, maintain contact list, schedule meetings, maintain Disaster Recovery Plan)
Ergonomics Administrator (investigate issues, make recommendations, follow-up)
Schedule First Aid and CPR training to Client s Employees
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred.
Minimum of [2] years of experience in a safety-related role.
In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
Excellent communication and training skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
