Communications and Organizational Change Management (OCM) Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Communications and Organizational Change Management (OCM) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications, coupled with expertise in organizational change management, particularly in the public sector. This role will be a mix of 75% Communications and 25% Organizational Change Management (OCM) responsibilities, supporting projects that drive successful outcomes in both areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Communications (75%):
- Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies to ensure clear, consistent messaging.
- Create, edit, and distribute a variety of communication materials, including emails, newsletters, presentations, and reports.
- Manage content for websites and social media channels to ensure timely and accurate updates.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure communication aligns with organizational goals and priorities.
- Ensure all communication efforts are aligned with branding and messaging standards.
Organizational Change Management (25%):
- Support the development and execution of OCM strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during organizational changes.
- Conduct assessments to understand the impact of changes and identify stakeholder needs.
- Develop and deliver training programs, materials, and workshops to aid employees in adapting to changes.
- Support leadership with change initiatives to ensure successful adoption and minimize resistance.
- Measure and report on the effectiveness of OCM activities and suggest improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in both communications and organizational change management, ideally in the public sector.
- Strong understanding of public sector processes and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
- Experience in developing communication materials and leading change management initiatives.
- OCM certification (e.g., Prosci or equivalent) preferred.
- Local to Sacramento, CA, or willing to commute.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with government or public sector clients.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership and diverse teams.
