This role will be a mix of 75% Communications and 25% Organizational Change Management (OCM) responsibilities, supporting projects that drive successful outcomes in both areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communications (75%):

    • Develop and implement internal and external communication strategies to ensure clear, consistent messaging.
    • Create, edit, and distribute a variety of communication materials, including emails, newsletters, presentations, and reports.
    • Manage content for websites and social media channels to ensure timely and accurate updates.
    • Collaborate with leadership to ensure communication aligns with organizational goals and priorities.
    • Ensure all communication efforts are aligned with branding and messaging standards.
  • Organizational Change Management (25%):

    • Support the development and execution of OCM strategies to facilitate smooth transitions during organizational changes.
    • Conduct assessments to understand the impact of changes and identify stakeholder needs.
    • Develop and deliver training programs, materials, and workshops to aid employees in adapting to changes.
    • Support leadership with change initiatives to ensure successful adoption and minimize resistance.
    • Measure and report on the effectiveness of OCM activities and suggest improvements.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in both communications and organizational change management, ideally in the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of public sector processes and practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
  • Experience in developing communication materials and leading change management initiatives.
  • OCM certification (e.g., Prosci or equivalent) preferred.
  • Local to Sacramento, CA, or willing to commute.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with government or public sector clients.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leadership and diverse teams.
