
Supervisory Services and Compliance Specialist

Provides administrative and technical direction through subordinate supervisors and team leaders. Plans organizational structure and staffing needs, determines types of jobs required and assigns duties to key subordinate positions.
Directs the work of the custodial and labor operations of the HOB. Employees are dispersed among the HOB and workday, evening and night shifts. The workforce experiences a substantial annual turnover of personnel. Incumbent coordinates work operations among subordinate units and with other trades.
Responsible for utilizing a thorough knowledge of and compliance with all OSHA safety rules and regulations to ensure that work progresses in a safe manner and to initiate or take corrective action on unsafe conditions in managed areas.
Coordinates the movement and storage of incoming supplies and other materials and the removal of waste and recyclable materials throughout the HOB.
Represents the Superintendent in contacts with Members and their staffs. Takes steps to resolve concerns and implements measures to prevent their recurrence.
Represents the Superintendent in administration of contracts dealing with facilities program areas.
Responsible for ensuring compliance in meeting regulations issued by agencies such as OCWR and the ADA.
Requires knowledge of hazardous (e.g. lead paint and solvents) and universal (e.g. lamps and batteries) waste management requirements to ensure compliance with environmental regulations in performance of duties (e.g. decide hazardous material is no longer needed and will be disposed, select containers for waste accumulation, add waste to containers, label containers, move waste to and from waste accumulation sites, manage waste accumulation sites). Provides waste management guidance and answer questions concerning waste management.

(2) Managing complex work requirements, work procedures and inspections ensuring materials and equipment are properly utilized and maintained.
(3) Applying extensive and practical knowledge of building operations and developing new methods and procedures for work assignments.
(4) Assisting with resolving complaints and grievances within scope of authority and refers to higher authority with appropriate recommendations.
