
IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/INFOSEC)
- Installs, configures, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots routers, bridges, hubs, encryption devices, cache servers, firewalls, cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers and concentrators.
- Monitors the ongoing operation of the various information processing systems within the organization and throughout the areas of Responsibility (AOR) of the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC).
- Function tests hardware and software to resolve technical problems and to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards.
- Responsible for the active review of and upkeep of Network Infrastructure Division’s physical access controls, procedural controls, technical controls, compliance controls and Critical Control Identifiers (CCIs).
- Performs Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) desk-side audits of the network division systems and reports findings any potential vulnerabilities.
- Performs duties as a Non-classified Internet Protocol (NIPR)/Secret Internet Protocol Router (SIPR) Network Administrator.

- Personnel assigned to this position must obtain the appropriate certification within six months of being assigned.
- The incumbent (or selectee) is required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate computing environment training and obtain the required certification applicable to the computing environment and baseline certification for IAT-II.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) business travel may be required to the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) areas of responsibility up to 25% of the time.
- Position may require overtime and shift work on short notice to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Position may be subject to a call back requirement to report within 2 hours of notification.
