Banking Analyst
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Banking Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting financial research, analyzing market trends, evaluating investment opportunities, and assisting in financial modeling to support strategic decision-making. The role requires a strong understanding of U.S. banking regulations, compliance frameworks, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate investment opportunities and risk management strategies.
- Prepare detailed reports on financial performance, industry trends, and market conditions.
- Assist in credit risk assessment and portfolio management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support lending, investment, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze customer financial statements to assess creditworthiness and lending risks.
- Support the development of financial models for forecasting and valuation.
- Assist in regulatory compliance and risk assessment activities.
- Participate in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and investment projects.
- Prepare presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders.
- Monitor and report key risk indicators (KRIs) and other metrics to upper management.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations from agencies such as FINRA, SEC, and SIPC while staying updated on evolving regulatory requirements.
- Quickly adapt to new regulatory frameworks, including U.S. Privacy regulations and SIPC Act.
- Work closely with Compliance, Business Units, and global colleagues to mitigate company risk exposure.
- Escalate issues and risks to supervisors promptly and proactively.
- Handle high work volumes, prioritize tasks, and respond to ad-hoc business demands efficiently.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across multiple teams.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, research, and investigative skills to address business challenges.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in banking, financial analysis, or investment research.
- General knowledge or experience in the U.S. banking environment and regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of FINRA, SEC, U.S. Privacy regulation, and SIPC Act.
- Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and risk assessment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
