
SECURITY SPECIALIST (UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER) (Title 32)
As a Security Specialist, GS-0080-9, you will:
This position is located in an Air National Guard Wing, Mission Support Group, Security Forces (SF) Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to manage deployment and logistical assets to ensure productive and effective utilization of materiel funding and requirements for all Security Forces tasks and responsibilities.

- National Guard Membership is required.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- DOD Security Fundamentals Professional Cert, Special Program Security Cert, and Security Asset Protection Professional Cert conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD or initial assignment date to this position.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
Qualifications
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Open to SSgt up to MSgt. AFSC requirement: Security Forces 3P0, Intel lN0, Maintenance 2AX/2WX, Command Post 1C3, or Aviation Resource Management 1C0. The military grade of the full-time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-7 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Experience in the competencies/KSAs listed below. (Experience must be documented in your resume) OR,
Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full academic years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree related to the position. (Transcript must be attached if using education) OR,
Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have a combination of specialized experience and education.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training.
- Skill to maintain, direct, obtain, and provide proper usage of Security Forces equipment in order to meet unit objectives.
- Skill to Manage SF equipment accounts and requisition all materials, equipment, and services necessary to support the function.
- Knowledge to coordinate movement of equipment and material by all modes of transportation.
- Knowledge to operate and manage SF storage facilities, to include geographically separated units and training sites.
Education
Education that may be substituted for some specialized experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degreeor
