Application Systems Manager(ERP)
The Application Systems Manager is responsible for maintaining and standardizing the company s ERP system, Data Collection System, Business Intelligence applications, and custom applications across the organization. This role reports directly to the Director of Information Technology and ensures the seamless integration, security, and efficiency of these systems.
Essential Functions:
- Lead the development, implementation, and support of the ERP system.
- Assist third-party DBAs in managing SQL and Oracle databases, including backups, maintenance, security, and redundancy.
- Establish and maintain support standards for label printers, barcode scanners, handheld, and vehicle-mounted computers.
- Collaborate with departments to implement and integrate third-party systems such as AGV/AMR, vision systems, and software applications.
- Coordinate IT projects, including researching and evaluating software, hardware, and related technology to improve operational efficiency.
- Manage the applications/programming team in analyzing, designing, and testing application software to meet business needs.
- Oversee training and support for department staff on software and hardware use, ensuring best practices for system integrity and security.
- Lead security patches, system updates, reboots, and upgrades to maintain system reliability.
- Direct efforts in system design, software evaluation, and vendor coordination to optimize network performance and security.
- Monitor and maintain ERP system security, access controls, troubleshooting, and vendor communications.
- Identify manual or Excel-based processes that can be improved through custom applications for better data input and system integration.
- Serve as a liaison between IT and other departments to evaluate and implement hardware and software solutions.
- Provide end-user support, helpdesk services, and troubleshooting assistance as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Maintain a customer service-oriented approach, ensuring effective communication with end users in a non-technical, user-friendly manner.
- Be available for after-hours support in case of production downtime or critical shipment-impacting issues.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Programming (Bachelor s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years in ERP systems, data collection, and application development.
- Leadership experience or training is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as IFS, Radley iCARaS, and Radley Data Collection.
- Strong background in SQL and Oracle database administration, maintenance, and support.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, Visual Basic, report writers, and business intelligence software.
- Experience maintaining applications on Windows Servers.
