Legal Project Manager
Our customer, a leading multinational financial technology company, is seeking a highly skilled Legal Project Manager to join its team. The ideal candidate will provide world-class matter planning, firm selection support, monitoring, and reporting to optimize each project from start to finish cost-effectively. The ideal candidate is a passionate legal project management professional who is organized, detail-oriented, data-driven, and proactive. They are self-starters who enjoy closely managing and optimizing projects, improving processes, and working collaboratively on complex problems.
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Remote, US (Bay Area Candidates are preferred)
Rate: $50-70 hourly on W2
Specifically, you will:
- Manage assigned matters to maximize efficiency, focusing on planning, monitoring, and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and cost control.
- Help build and enhance the company’s legal project management efforts, partnering with internal stakeholders to define and implement LPM best practices.
- Serve as a trusted matter operations advisor to each matter leader.
- Coordinate RFPs for priority matters, including working with legal team members to design, build, launch, review, and award RFPs.
- Drive collection of matter data and deliver recurring updates to legal leaders.
- Assist eBilling team with outside counsel invoice review for matter compliance and work performed.
- Build and maintain legal project management guidelines, training, and playbooks to support the Legal Department.
- Proactively seek ways to improve current processes to maximize productivity, workflow, and efficiency in all aspects of the LPM function.
- Provide project support, reporting, and analysis as requested in relation to outside counsel management and legal operations.
Qualifications-
- 5+ years of work experience in legal project management; experience in a law firm or large in-house legal team preferred.
- High level of professionalism, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable dealing with all levels in the organization and communicating regularly with senior leaders on difficult topics.
- Bias for action and proactive, on-time delivery; takes ownership of an issue once aware of it, going the extra mile to resolve problems that may fall outside your expertise.
- Always seeking ways to improve/enhance processes, find efficiencies, and think outside the box.
- Successfully handle assignments with minimal supervision.
- Technology-savvy; proficient in all Microsoft Office applications with strong Excel and analytical skills required; Power BI and reporting experience preferred.
- PMP or similar Project Management experience preferred.
