Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and experienced High School Math Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching mathematics, a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment, and the ability to inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential. This position requires the ability to teach a variety of math subjects, including but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics, to high school students of varying skill levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruction:
  • Teach a full range of high school math courses, including but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, and Statistics.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum standards and promote a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, technologies, and resources to engage students and support different learning styles.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, providing additional support or enrichment as necessary.
  • Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, assignments, and projects.
  • Provide constructive and timely feedback to students and families regarding academic performance.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
  • Manage student behavior and resolve conflicts appropriately, creating a space where all students can learn and thrive.
  • Foster a growth mindset among students, encouraging them to persevere through challenges and celebrate successes.
  • Collaboration and Professional Development:
  • Work collaboratively with other math teachers, school staff, and administrators to improve student outcomes and ensure continuity in instruction.
  • Participate in school-wide meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events as required.
  • Stay current with new teaching strategies, tools, and research in mathematics education.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of curriculum materials and resources.
  • Parent and Community Involvement:
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
  • Engage in school activities and events that support the academic and extracurricular development of students.
  • Other Duties as assigned by the building Principal.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
  • State certification in Secondary Mathematics (or the ability to obtain certification).
  • Previous teaching experience at the high school level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of high school mathematics concepts, curricula, and instructional strategies.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including interactive whiteboards, online learning platforms, and math software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
