Description: The Business Objects Services will play a critical role in supporting the TWIST team s efforts to meet federal requirements for transitioning the Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS) to the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information System (CCWIS). This role involves planning, development, and implementation of systems, ensuring seamless interoperability, and maintaining essential business intelligence tools.

Key responsibilities include collaborating with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and implement business requirements, and developing and maintaining management reports and queries for CHFS stakeholders, including open records requests. The specialist will design and support enterprise-level business intelligence solutions using Business Objects tools such as Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence (WEBI), and Dashboard Designer, as well as create interactive data visualizations with Tableau software.

The role also involves planning and implementing system interoperability solutions, including Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and message queues (e.g., MQSeries, JMS, MSMQ). The specialist will partner with the Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) program and COT s Data Services Branch to align with organizational data strategies. Additionally, they will conduct system analysis, recommend improvements for the Business Objects Enterprise Platform, and ensure the timely delivery of Customer Service Requests (CSRs) and daily maintenance tasks.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Business Intelligence tools, including Business Objects (Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence, and Dashboard Designer) and Tableau for interactive dashboards and data visualization.
  • Hands-on expertise in system development using .NET, Visual Studio, and relational database systems, with a strong focus on query optimization.
  • Proven ability to implement interoperability solutions, such as Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and message queue technologies (e.g., MQSeries, JMS, MSMQ).
  • Familiarity with SACWIS/CCWIS systems or similar compliance-driven child welfare information platforms and federal reporting requirements, particularly within the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS).
  • Experience managing and optimizing Business Objects Enterprise Platform performance and aligning with enterprise-level data strategies.
  • Skilled in developing and maintaining complex management reports and queries for diverse stakeholders, ensuring alignment with organizational and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise business intelligence programs, including integration with data services branches.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external users.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities to enhance platform performance and recommend system improvements.

Effective project management skills, with a proven track record of handling multiple projects, meeting tight deadlines, and managing ad-hoc requests.
