Leadership

  • Maintain operational and financial accountability for the site(s) and support Division functions and service lines, as assigned.

  • Delegate to leaders the authority and responsibility necessary for performing their assigned duties and ensure adequate controls exist to render the delegation effective.
  • Maintain high standards in the conduct of employee relations throughout the hospital.
  • Participate as a member of the Aspirus Executive Leadership Team.
  • Service in a matrix relationship with Aspirus Medical Group, Aspirus Service Lines, Aspirus Network, etc. to develop programs and services that foster market growth and meet community needs.
  • Maintain accountability for quarterly senior leader rounding on entity and functional departments.

As an integral member of the Senior Executive Team, this position is accountable for the business and clinical success of the Business Unit services and assigned Division functions and programs. Specific accountabilities include the following:

  • Overall strategic leadership and direction for the Business Unit and all aspects of the assigned service areas or division directors’ functions.
  • In collaboration with the appropriate administrative, physician executive, management and line and medical staff, plan, organize, develop and direct the activities of the assigned areas.
  • Serve as the administrative representative/spokesperson for the assigned service areas, representing the programs to all internal and external/community constituencies.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of the area’s strategic business plans.
  • Serve as an integral part of operational analysis and decision-making, including the development of annual budgets.
  • Monitor the quality, volume and profitability of services and initiate actions as necessary to maintain and improve these parameters.
  • Maintain active and productive relations with both primary care and specialist providers in support of program goals and objectives in the Business Unit.
  • Collaborate with marketing to enhance program image, strengthen brand recognition and develop brand loyalty.
  • Assist in developing organizational and operational infrastructure on a continuous basis to support the ongoing growth and development of the services and programs.
  • Assist in physician and key staff recruitment and retention.
  • Assess the existence and relative strength of all components of the continuum of care and initiate actions as appropriate to develop and enhance those components deemed necessary.
