Job Title: Credit Analyst
Position Summary: The Credit Analyst will be responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients, analyzing financial statements, and providing insights and recommendations regarding loan approvals and credit risk. This role requires a deep understanding of financial analysis, risk management, and credit policies to support sound lending decisions and ensure the overall financial health of the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Evaluation:
- Analyze financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant data to assess the creditworthiness of individual and business clients.
- Prepare detailed credit analysis reports, including risk assessments and recommendations for loan approval or denial.
- Risk Management:
- Evaluate the potential risks associated with lending decisions and ensure compliance with the bank's risk management policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist in identifying and mitigating credit risks for both consumer and commercial loans.
- Loan Portfolio Management:
- Monitor existing loans to ensure timely repayment and compliance with agreed terms.
- Support senior management with ongoing monitoring of credit exposure and adjustments to loan terms where necessary.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with Relationship Managers and other teams within the bank to support the credit decision-making process.
- Provide recommendations and assist in structuring loan terms for new and existing clients.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit analysis and decisions.
- Prepare regular reports on credit analysis trends, portfolio performance, and risk assessments for management review.
- Market Research:
- Stay informed of economic trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting credit risk and the banking environment.
- Provide insights to management based on market trends and financial conditions.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in credit analysis, lending, or financial analysis within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, credit analysis techniques, and risk management principles.
- Skills:
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of financial modeling, credit risk assessment, and financial statement analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software/tools.
- Good understanding of banking regulations and credit policies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings.

- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive financial data.
