Position: HW Engineering Program Manager

Location: Greater Boston Area (on-site)

Rate: Negotiable

Duration: 12+ months

Position Overview:

One of our robotics clients in the Greater Boston Area is hiring for a Technical Program Manager within the Hardware space. Candidates for this role are expected to have a hands-on mechanical engineering or electrical engineering background.

In addition to a strong technical background, this role will require at least five years of experience of program management experience in the hardware, manufacturing, or engineering field.

Key job responsibilities

Manage large, complex technology initiatives, delivering critical solutions, significant improvements, new mechanisms, or deprecating systems that are no longer needed.

Manage information technology and business relationships to drive increased performance

Be knowledgeable of all systems in the program space, their limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind architectural choices

Drive business future-state capabilities and IT environment to detect gaps and recommend data solutions for improvement and modernization

Guide project teams with technical direction, ensuring efforts are aligned with the future vision and strategy

Be effective and efficient in the delivery of large, complex technical projects and programs

Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs with technical constraints

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of technical product or program management experience

5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

Experience defining KPIs/SLAs used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

5+ years experience working with a scaled engineering or manufacturing organization.

5+ years experience as a program or project manager in an enterprise IT department.

Experience with implementation or ongoing management of a Manufacturing Execution System or Enterprise Resource Planning system.
