People Operations Manager/Specialist
Shirley Parsons North America is looking for a new member of the North America Leadership Team (“NALT”) to support internal customers to successfully grow their Value Propositions (“VPs”) and deliver results, including:
- Collaborate with NALT to achieve retention and development goals.
- Identify operational issues and find solutions, through resources or training, ensuring problems are fixed at the source.
- Consult with NALT to enhance internal brand advocacy and employee experience.
- Advise NALT and leadership on HR risks and best practices to ensure compliance and employee well-being.
- Support CSR initiatives to positively impact our communities and advance our purpose to Grow, Do Good, & Enjoy the Journey.
Responsibilities:
Development & Retention Regionally deploy annual engagement survey and support NALT with a subsequent action plan.
- Support the Training Leader to deliver and improve regional employee training programs effectively.
- Manage professional development programs, including nurturing emerging and established leaders.
- Coordinate regional company mentorship program, ensuring an inclusive and supportive culture for all.
- Track and report on key HR indicators (e.g., turnover, engagement, diversity) to inform decision-making and strategy development.
- Continuously develop internal Career Pathways, ensuring a clear roadmap for professional growth.
- Lead L&D projects for the region, such as deployment of the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Organize 360 reviews and support the development of employee action plans where appropriate.
- Support NALT to ensure fun company incentives and reward programs.
Oversee HR compliance for employees and contractors across multiple states, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal employment laws.
- Work closely with finance and payroll teams to ensure accurate payroll processing, wage compliance, and tax obligations.
- Manage employee classifications, exempt vs. non-exempt status, independent contractor compliance, and wage-hour regulations.
- Ensure HR policies, employee handbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are up to date and compliant with legal requirements.
- Monitor and implement changes in employment laws, including pay transparency, leave policies, worker classification, and benefits compliance.
- Handle compliance-related reporting, including EEO, ACA, and state-mandated reports.
- Advise NALT and leadership on HR risks and best practices to ensure compliance and employee well-being.
Employer Branding & Advocacy Foster an inclusive work environment by developing regional DEI, CSR, and recognition programs (e.g., work anniversaries, awards, gifts) =
- Oversee Social Media accounts intended for talent acquisition and attraction (e.g., @ShirleyParsonsCareers)
- Organize employer-branded materials for NA teams, both for internal and external employees (e.g., SWAG, business cards)
- Lead initiatives to enhance employer branding, such as business awards and marketing collateral (e.g., Great Places to Work)
- Update content on the intranet to inform the group of material or exciting updates across the US and Canadian teams.
Employment Type: Permanent full-time
Location: In office and/or remote (must be a reasonable distance from Boston or Los Angeles)
Travel: Biannual discovery trips to a regional office
