Who We Are Looking For

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the purpose of this role is to provide best-in-class sales management execution in order to secure sales for the company’s dietary fiber products in 2025. An ideal candidate is one who has: 1) extensive experience developing and securing key customers in health food or broader CPG food industry, 2) moving key customers through the sales pipeline to close sales and 3) knowledge of the food ingredient space, including the insights and trends driving consumer demand. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of profitably positioning and selling products into relevant markets, as well as fostering relationships with Global Ingredients Company’s key customers. The ideal candidate will also have strong leadership skills with demonstrated people sales management experience. They are in team building mode so this is very much a “working manager” type of role.

What You Will Do

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Global Ingredients Company’s product offerings
  • Drive sales through sales team on developing target and key accounts
  • Oversee building relationships with customers to position company’s ingredients to serve nutritional, sustainability and formulation needs of customers in food markets
  • Manage the entire customer acquisition pipeline from lead qualification through to purchase orders and customer satisfaction / retention
  • Meet sales and margin targets, including negotiating key terms of customer agreements such as pricing, volume commitments and other terms, while overseeing the sales targets of sales team members
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (product development, supply chain, marketing, and customer case) to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with Marketing and R&D to bring new product ideas and concepts from and to the market
  • Play the key leading role in resolving important customer issues
  • Oversight of providing the voice of the customer insight to the entire organization

What You Need To Be Successful

  • A minimum of 10 years of successful specialty ingredient sales into food, beverage or supplement companies, 5 of which should be direct salespeople leadership
  • A history of exceptional customer relationships, with many still current
  • A proven ability to be part of oversee brand new sales opportunities
  • A track record of overseeing the development and implementation of successful solution selling with customers
  • Proven track record of working closely with key customers in designing and producing product initiatives that worked for both parties
  • A Bachelor’s degree, with an MBA is a plus for this leadership position
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and CRM systems (company uses Hubspot)
  • Hands-on, “roll up the sleeves” and “get it done” attitude – this KEY for this position. The team is lean and having the “doer-manager” mentality is very important for success
