Excellent Professional Services Firm in NYC is looking for a CFO to join the leadership team. This person will be part of the C-Suite and play a key role to the firm's current and future success.

The Chief Financial Officer will direct and oversee the financial activities of the Partnership, produce timely and accurate financial reports and summaries, develop and report on Key Performance Indicators, perform treasury functions including cash flow and create forecasts / budgets and establish internal controls around financial processes to produce high quality information. Candidate must have deep knowledge of partnership accounting, and partnership tax knowledge a plus.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and develop Accounting Department, including offshore resources: Billing and Collections, Accounts Payable, A/R and Collections, Client Maintenance, Payroll, and Controller/Assistant Controller (including Financial Reporting and Analysis).

Duties:

  • Direct the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax workpapers, and governmental agency reports for Partnership and affiliates.
  • Compares revenue and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses; makes or oversees any necessary adjustments to future projections and budgets.
  • Assess and identify Firm financial risks, market trends and conditions, providing proactive recommendations to the Executive Committee to mitigate potential issues and implement best practices.
  • Review weekly and monthly Key Performance Indicators and advise firm management on low performing areas / individuals.
  • Cost containment / management.
  • Work with the executive committee members and C-suite, to coordinate planning and establish priorities. Sits on committee of C-Suites that oversee firm operations.
  • Ability to conduct in-depth analysis of existing processes to identify opportunities for efficiencies in finance area.
  • Identify, lead, and support finance transformation projects including identifying and implementing opportunities for process optimization and automation.
  • Oversees daily cash flow, coordinate all banking activities and control cost of banking fees.
  • Handle all aspects of monthly and year end closes, including profit allocations and distribution requirements to partners.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • 8-10+ years of experience in financial management required.
  • Previous experience should include CPA / Consulting firm, Law Firm, or other Professional Services.
