Internship Snapshot:

The Landside Business Development department is looking for a data-driven Intern II who will play a key role in optimizing parking resources and enhancing the customer experience at SAN. We are seeking for a curious and analytical individual with strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills. Their interest in data analysis and revenue optimization will help support and develop creative solutions. Strong communication and collaboration skills will be essential in working across multiple teams and engaging with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will leverage their proactive mindset, adaptability, and drive to make a positive impact on the SAN traveler.

What You'll Do:

• Optimizing Parking Efficiency: Conduct analysis of parking utilization trends, focusing on identifying underutilized spaces and EV chargers. Evaluate data to determine peak usage times, assess operational challenges, and recommend strategies to optimize space allocation. Assist in developing reports, charts, and visualizations to communicate findings to key stakeholders
• Strategic Marketing & Customer Targeting: Research and develop targeted marketing strategies to promote parking services, increase customer awareness, and drive higher utilization rates. Identify key customer segments and create tailored outreach initiatives to align parking products with demand. Assist in the creation of digital and print marketing materials, promotional campaigns, and customer engagement strategies
• Revenue Systems & Monetization: Utilize revenue control systems, understand their role in pricing, transaction management, and financial reporting. Analyze data from revenue systems to identify trends, assess performance, and support data-driven decision-making for parking product enhancements. Research innovative ways to monetize underutilized resources
• Innovative Problem-Solving: Apply critical thinking and creative problem-solving to maximize parking assets, improve customer experience, and enhance revenue opportunities. Bring fresh insights into existing challenges by researching industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative parking solutions. • Students in their final semester or quarter who need less than full-time enrollment to graduate with four (4) year degree need only be enrolled part-time in courses required for undergraduate degree completion
• Educational major must be related to area of interest

A thorough background investigation, including an FBI fingerprint based criminal history records check, of your references and employment/education history from the last 10 years will be conducted. This includes a visit to our Access Control Office inside Terminal 2 in the San Diego International Airport, be camera ready!

• Proof of Citizenship or Legal Authorization:
  
  

Submission of documentation proving citizenship or legal authorization to work in the United States is essential, complying with the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
