HR Assistant/Assistant FSO

What we are looking for in a successful candidate: We are searching for a qualified HR generalist and AFSO to provide administrative support to our Human Resources and Facility Security departments. Reporting to the Director of HR, the assistant will help with recruiting, scheduling interviews, applicant tracking, and administrative functions in onboarding cleared defense contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with recruiting tasks such as job postings, obtaining qualified applicants, reviewing resumes, conducting and scheduling interviews, applicant tracking, hiring, and following up with candidates
- Setup new hires in payroll, benefits systems, and completing I-9s and entering into E-Verify
- Processes new employee security clearances and track security clearance investigations utilizing the National Background Investigation Services (NBIS), Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) and review Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP); fingerprint scheduling and submission in Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT)
- Coordinates and submits necessary paperwork for Common Access Card (CAC) applications, Visit Requests and systems access (as required)
- Assists in the implementation and tracking of all required certifications, security re trainings, common Access cards and badges
- Assists with onboarding and offboarding
- Assists with other administrative duties as needed
Skills and qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in relevant field and one (1) year experience or HS Diploma/GED with three (3) years experience in clerical, secretarial, or business administration preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be organized, detail orientated, able to work independently and multi-task efficiently
- Proficiency in administrative duties such as communications, data entry, and record keeping
- Tact and professionalism in handling confidential information
- Proficiency with Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to pick up new software easily
- Must complete or have completed required training for NIWC Atlantic and AFSO duties
