Position Summary

The Servicing MIS group is seeking a Business Data Analyst to support reporting, data analysis, and automation solutions across mortgage servicing. This role will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions by collaborating with stakeholders to define data needs, develop reports, and support process improvements. The ideal candidate will have mortgage servicing experience, strong analytical skills, and a foundational knowledge of SQL, with the opportunity to upskill in AI technologies like Snowflake Document AI and grow into a more technical role.

  • Work closely with business users to gather, document, and translate reporting and data requirements into technical specifications.
  • Develop and maintain reports using Microsoft SQL (T-SQL), SSRS, Power BI, and Excel to provide actionable insights.
  • Perform data analysis to identify trends, validate results, and support decision-making.
  • Assist in data mapping, validation, and balancing efforts for third-party integrations.
  • Maintain a master report inventory and track outstanding report requests.
  • Review and validate report accuracy before business validation and production release.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within reporting workflows.
  • Support the transition of legacy reports to modernized standardized formats.
  • Document business and technical processes related to data reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in code reviews and troubleshooting efforts, working closely with developers.
  • Maintain data repositories, queries, and report automation solutions in Azure DevOps.
  • Assist with AI-related projects, including Snowflake Document AI, to automate document processing and data extraction.
  • Follow reporting and develop standards to ensure consistency and usability.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities while managing multiple business requests.

Qualifications

Desired Competencies:

  • 3+ years of experience in mortgage servicing, with familiarity in foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, escrow, loan boarding, or investor reporting.
  • Experience working with ICE Mortgage Technology (Encompass, MSP, or related tools) is highly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL (T-SQL) and report development in SSRS, Power BI, or Excel.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, track requests, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with technical teams, developers, and business users.
  • Interest in AI technologies such as Snowflake Document AI, with a willingness to learn and grow in the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or TFS is a plus.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint administration or scripting (PowerShell, VBA, Python, or jQuery) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with managed file transfer system (GoAnywhere)

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of mortgage servicing experience (ICE Mortgage Technology preferred).
  • Basic SQL knowledge with the ability to learn advanced queries and reporting.
  • Remote candidates should have prior experience working with distributed teams across time zones.
