Supply Chain Manager
Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic leader with a strong track record in procurement, specifically in food service and manufacturing. This role requires 10+ years of experience managing direct (food) and indirect (packaging) procurement, along with deep knowledge of food products and supplier networks. The ideal candidate is an innovative problem-solver with outstanding communication skills, capable of inspiring and guiding a high-performing team. Occasional travel may be necessary for industry events, including food shows and conferences at local, state, and national levels.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and implement procurement strategies that optimize supply chain efficiency while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Oversee purchasing operations for food manufacturing and high-volume catering, focusing on cost-reduction initiatives and supplier optimization.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors, leveraging volume purchasing to drive cost savings and strengthen supplier relationships.
- Develop and monitor key procurement metrics, using data-driven insights to enhance operational decision-making.
- Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals, fostering a results-oriented and high-performance culture.
- Drive continuous improvements in procurement processes and demand planning through existing systems and new efficiencies.
- Establish and enforce procurement policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Identify and introduce new product sourcing opportunities that align with budgetary and operational constraints.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certifications: Supply chain certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in procurement within the food service or manufacturing industries.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a hands-on approach to team management.
- Skilled negotiator with a strategic mindset and ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Analytical thinker with a keen eye for optimizing procurement processes and reducing costs.
- Adept at managing complex projects by breaking them down into actionable steps.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities, ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams.
