DR Planning and Design: Assess business needs and identify critical applications to prioritize for DR. Create comprehensive DR plans with recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs). Design replication strategies across different environments (on-premises, cloud, hybrid) using Zerto functionality.
Implementation and Configuration: Install and configure Zerto software on virtualized environments. Define replication policies, including scheduling, retention periods, and protection groups. Manage storage and network settings for optimal data replication performance.
Testing and Validation: Perform regular test failovers to verify DR readiness and identify potential issues. Monitor replication status and address any errors or inconsistencies. Document test results and update DR plans based on findings.
Incident Response and Recovery: Initiate DR procedures in case of a disaster, including failover to a secondary site. Troubleshoot recovery issues and coordinate with IT teams to restore critical systems.
Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of DR plans, configurations, and test results. Provide regular reports on DR readiness and compliance to stakeholders. Skills:
Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Expertise in data replication and disaster recovery concepts
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) for DR scenarios
Required Linux skills
Proficiency in Zerto software features and functionalities
Networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
